Important Information (PLEASE READ)
First of all, when inquiring about car rental puerto vallarta reservations please include the total number of people in your group, where you will be staying for the duration of the rental (if you're staying in different places please let us know), include arrival/departure information and let us know if you have bigger items or excessive luggage such as surf boards/golf clubs. As a result this will help us smooth out the rental process and help us prevent any foreseeable problems.
Most important, please keep in mind all of our vehicles must stay within 200 kilometers of our office here in Bucerias. THEREFORE OUR RENTALS ARE FOR LOCAL USE ONLY.
Some roads here are REALLY rough, because of this its very important to check the conditions where you are going. Our Toyota Yaris compacts, Honda City and mini vans are not made for rougher roads. These are low clearance vehicles for that reason have a higher risk of bottoming out. PLEASE check that the house you are staying at is compatible with the car you choose. If you want to go somewhere with rough roads PLEASE choose a vehicle that has higher clearance. You can ask us about road conditions, we know the area really well.
Above all safety is always #1. Consequently all our rates include FULL COVERAGE insurance: liability, collision and medical. When you arrive to our office we will require a Visa or MasterCard pre-authorization (deposit). On vehicles that seat 5 people the amount can go from $10,000 MXN to $15,000 MXN, for 7 passenger vehicles is $18,000 MXN, for 8 passenger vehicles is $20,000 MXN or $30,000 MXN. This pre-authorization will be reversed when the vehicle is returned.
The rates posted on our website are for 7 days. These rates include FULL coverage insurance and IVA (Federal Mexican sales tax). Round trip VIP transportation is also included from and back to the airport. For shorter or longer terms please inquire and we will send you an accurate quote.
All rentals are for 24 hour periods and go out with a full tank, please fill up before returning. All rates are in Mexican Pesos. You can use www.xe.com for exchange rates on your desired currency at the moment of payment.

IS IT NECESSARY TO RENT A CAR IN PUERTO VALLARTA?
Excellent question! The answer depends on how you would like to spend your time. Would like to explore the area or stay put in your accommodations? How am I getting from the airport to my accommodations and vice versa? Airport taxis are expensive! If your staying far from the airport this cost can be significant. For instance our rentals of 3 day or more rates include airport pick up for up to 3 people, if you are renting the day you arrive. If you take the vehicle till your departure date a ride back to the airport is also included. If you deduct your savings from airport transfer a rental starts to make more sense.
Other points to consider: Am I staying close to town? How far of walk is it to public transportation? Do I want to take double the time in a non air-conditioned bus to get to my destination? Are taxis expensive where I am staying? If you are staying in Punta de Mita or that general area taxis are double even triple the price of everywhere else on the bay. In general, Puerto Vallarta buses are very consistent and reliable. However, it takes a long time to cover distances. Consequently, It is uncomfortable going to a beach carrying umbrella, cooler and beach chairs, etc.
Therefore, having a rental vehicle makes a big difference on possibilities of exploring different areas. After all the whole point is to get to where you want and when you want. So go ahead! Rent and enjoy all the beaches, food, and diversity that other nearby towns have to offer. Finally, visit Bucerias, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta Mita, Sayulita, San Pancho, Lo de Marcos, Guayabitos, Los Ayala, San Blas, etc.
DO THE RATES INCLUDE TAXES AND INSURANCES?
As a rule. all of our car rental quotes include "out the door" rates with no hidden or extra fees upon return.
IS THE INSURANCE FULL COVER AND IS THERE A DEDUCTIBLE?
To begin with, all our vehicles include full cover insurance. That's because we prepay for insurance on a yearly basis, therefore our rates are all inclusive. Subsequently yes, there is a deductible and for 5 passenger vehicles the amount can go from $10,000 MXN to $15,000 MXN. Next, for 7 passenger vehicles is $18,000 MXN. And finally, for 8 passenger vehicles is $20,000 MXN, $25,000 MXN or $30,000 MXN. We take a security deposit off your credit card upon arrival to the office. The deposit depends on the vehicle you get and remains as a hold on your credit card account until the vehicle is returned. So, upon returning the rental car we proceed with payment, then the deposit can be cancelled when applied towards the payment of the rental paying with the same credit-card.
